table reading answers

1. I think that its pleasurable to burn the book rather than read them because its easier and faster. Everyone in Montags society seems to live fast and they never really sit down and relax they dont sit down and read.. another reason might be that they are brainwashed into thinking that books are bad so they burn them then burn the ashes.. apparently its against the law to read anyway so...

2. I think that the books are compared to birds because the ashes are flying away

3. Montag lives a very simple ordinary life, whereas clarrise is different from everyone else she enjoys everything around her.

4. Most of the tech in F451 was predicted and the tech does nothing to improve their lives because people still try and kill themselves. the technology if anything made them more depressed.

5. this question confused me and honestly not quite sure why the narrator chose to put us in this time of montags life,but i am excited to read about  it.

6. The author probably introduces Clarisse first because she plays a much bigger roll than his wife Mildred.

7. Maybe all the houses are fire proof because people didnt want to pay for fire departments to put out fires anymore other than that im not sure why they would be fire proof

8.   Mildred requires emergency services because she attempted to commit suicide. she got her stomach pumped and a blood transfusion to get all the the sleeping pills that she had taken out of her system.

9. The mechanical hound seemed like entertainment for the other firemen. the hound severed as a police force almost and growled at Montag maybe the dog knows about what hes hiding.

HIGH SCHOOL S POINTLESS

Today at my school we had a Collage Fair and it got me really excited for collage so later when i got home i started talking to my sister about it. While we were talking i started to realize that high school hasnt prepared me for life at all... I have learned pointless things for the last three years.Now i understand that learning the history of this country is important. I know that  there are important subjects BUT i feel/know that i have forgotten most of what ive learned already... and i still have not really learned any important life skills that could and should be taught in school considering that they say they are preparing you for life. I still dont know how to write a check, a resume , pay bills,etc. these are all IMPORTANT skills that i HAVE to know and yet have not been taught yet. Some say well you have your parents for that but isnt school that place STUDENTS go to LEARN and PREPARE for the rest of their lives?....Thank you Dr. Preston for actually teaching us some of these important skills like time management which i forgot to mention and how to write a good resume. Several students dont know these things and need someone to teach them. High school is just pointless when you really think about it theres to much stress and projects that really arent preparing us for life... i guess they teach you some things like leadership, and you can teach yourself time management BUT wouldnt it be better if we had a whole class for that? I think we need our school system to change a bit.... If any important Education figure that can make some changes happen and wants to see some changes happen are reading this e-mail me or comment and we can have a conversation i can round up a bunch of students and really talk about what needs to change. I can go on and on about this but i think i leave that to another blog post on another day.

First Impression of "The Love song" by T.S. Elliot

This poem kinda confuses me I dont really understand... like is he in love or does he not like love is he dying or is he in his prime. I need to go through the poem a few more time to get a good understanding of it. The tone and title are "funny" like you almost expect the poem to be cheesy and corny and all about love but when youre reading it the tone is disappointed,depressing, and almost desperate

- Myrtle loves money more than Tom

- before ww1 the arch duke of Austria was assassinated and then the war started , its almost the same same as if Daisy wasn't driving or took a different turn than maybe Myrtle wouldn't have died therefore Gatsby wouldn't have died

- Gatsby is like Richard Cory because many people were envious of him and wanted to be like him but in the end they both  die BUT Gatsby didn't kill himself like Richard Cory did...Richard Cory was unhappy but no one ever noticed Gatsby was unhappy because he didn't have Daisy's love.

- Daisy is either w ver weak women because she couldnt leave Tom
or she was a very strong woman that was selfish and was only with Tom for money

- The THREE SYMBOLS that showed up throughout the book was the Green light, ash heaps, and the eyes of T.J. Ekelburg

Chapter 8 notes

-the story took a dark turn fast with Myrtles death in chapter 7

-the theme is now death

- with the theme being death its a universal theme because every human knows what death is and can relate to it in one way or another

- Nick went over to Gatsby's house and when he left they said goodbye a lot, it felt like the story was gonna end there

- It turns out that it was there last goodbye because.....Gatsby was shot and killed by Wilson

-Wilson killed himself after killing Gatsby

- Gatsby is now dead... that hasn't really sunk in yet to be honest

-The book foreshadowed his death by making the season Fall when trees are losing there leaves and things die

-Gatsby's house was also not really "alive" anymore there was dust, a musty smell, stale cigarettes, just very gloomy and dead
